5th Installation Ceremony of the Leo Club of SLTC...
Aspiring for another year of diligence and excellence, the LEO Club of Sri Lanka Technological Campus hosted its fifth Installation Ceremony for the Leoistic Year 2020/2021. Held on the 7th of November 2020 from 3.00pm onwards via the online platform Zoom, the occasion witnessed the attendance of around two hundred participants, where distinguished dignitaries including the Chief Guest of the ceremony, District President, Leo District 306 A2, Leo Praminda Vindika. Guest of Honor of the Ceremony, Multiple District President of Leo Multiple District 306, Leo Champaka Dhammage. Special Guests of the Ceremony, Immediate Past District President of Leo District 306 A2, Leo Mudith Jayasekara and Dr. Gayana Herath, Head, quality of life enhancement and Lecturer, School of Engineering, Sri Lanka Technological Campus, numerous multiple and district council officers and visiting Leos graced this memorable occasion.
The event, after being called to order, was initiated with the stating of the meeting minutes of the previous installation ceremony and the previous leoistic year’s financial report; the proceedings were duly followed by the ‘Year Gone by’ video which depicted a summarization of the events and proceedings conducted in the Leoistic Year 2019/2020. After the addressing by the outgoing president Leo Lakshitha Sandaruwan, the highlight of the ceremony, namely the induction of the newly appointed Leo members and the installation of the new club directors for the Leoistic year 2020/21, was conducted in a manner of utmost grandeur.
Afterwards the newly appointed president, Leo Nisal Samarasighe, addressed the gathering whilst subsequently introducing and signifying the new club logo. The event then proceeded with the addressing by the Special Guests Leo Mudith Jayasekara and Dr. Gayana Herath, Chief Guest Leo Praminda Vindika and Guest of Honor Leo Champaka Dhammage respectively, where they expressed their immense pleasure and budding eagerness for the novel Leo committee to accomplish in the preceding future whilst also imparting a few words of wisdom and motivation in hopes of a promising leoistic year. The event thereupon drew to a close following an open forum felicitation, where the LEO Club of Sri Lanka Technological Campus was received with countless expressions of acclamation and well wishes from the dignitaries present at the event and the closing remarks by the Club Advisor of the LEO Club of SLTC, Lion Noel Palliyaguru, who also expressed his blitheness and anticipation of what awaits in the novel leoistic year.
It is unknown as to what the future holds for the LEO Club of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, yet with the driving passion of its club members and the tremendous support showered by associates and well-wishers across the nation, no obstacle stands unconquerable.
