SLTC LEOS

Elation 2020 organized by the Leo Clubs of Leo District 306 where the members of each respective club will compete against each other showcasing their talents and skills. Awards were categorized onto four, namely Most Talented Performance, Most Popular Performance, Highest participation,and Most creative cheering squad.Elation ‘20 was the most charismatic talent showcase event of the year and the evening was full of talented young performers rocking the stage. The winner of the evening was  Vishmi Sandunika  of the Leo Club of Colombo New century. And the runner up was Kavishka de Silva of Leo Club of Maththegoda. The second runner up was Ravindi Bowatte of Leo Club of Colombo Knights. Leo Pramod Kalhara of Leo Club of SLTC was the most popular contestant of Elation ‘20. The event was the best example of the spirit of Leos as the night ended in an extravagant manner.

The Monthly General meeting was held on the 13th of March 2020 at the campus premises from 6.15 p.m onwards. Starting with the national anthem,reciting the pledge and inspiring speeches throughout the event was a good inducement for our Leos and prospects to this precious journey. The meeting was conducted with the participation of our honourable chief guest, District Vice President Leo Pasindu Mahawatta and Guest of honour, Region Director-Region B- 306A2, Leo Osura Perera, all the Leo members, and Leo prospects were able to know their experiences and memories all through their Leo journey. At last, the event was concluded after a small discussion on the current issues, solutions for them and some proposals for the future development of the club, which proves the passion of Leos and prospects towards the club.

Leo youth camp is one of the memorable events organized by the Leo district 306 A2 which was held on 28th, 29th of February and on the 1st of March at Rangiri Aqua Dambulla, adventure-based camping site. For the ease of the participants, two shuttles were provided for transportation. The National anthem was sung and the pledges were read signing the start of the three days event with the council chairman Lion Dr. Padmasiri Ranawakaarachchi MJF as the chief guest of the event. About 100 Leos have participated in this year's camp. Leo youth camp is an annually conducting camp that helps the Leos every year to build up their confidence in facing obstacles and leadership skills.Various activities were conducted. Hiking, Air rifle shoot, Rope activities, Morning exercises, Flatwater rafting, etc. And the event was closed by a campfire allowing the Leos to show their unique skills and have fun. A Film Fest was organized by the Leo club of Sri Lanka Technological campus on the 12th of March to raise funds for the upcoming "Agni" music concert. The movie "Spies in Disguise" was shown to the students of the campus at auditorium 5. Film Fests are organized every month and the latest movies are shown to raise funds as well as to relieve the stress of campus students.
