Project LEO IEEE Sinhalen DOCS – the collaborative project organized by the LEO Club of Sri Lanka Technological Campus and the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC spanned for a fruitful and innovative seven months inspiring and educating the Sri Lankan youth in bringing out the confident entrepreneur skilled in the media Microsoft Office Suite within themselves.

As the final entrance of this mega project, its respective closing ceremony was held on the 21st of March 2021 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Leo Youth Center, Colombo 07. Graced by the Chief Guest of the event Leo Praminda Vindika – District President of the LEO District 306 A2, Guest of Honor Mr. Mithushan Jalangan – Webmaster of IEEE Young Professionals, Asia – Pacific region and special guests Leo Raseema Sugandi - District Secretary of the LEO District 306 A2, Ms. Maheshika Madubhasini – Co-Chairperson of IEEE Tehno Meetup Sri Lanka and Mr. Vidura Dhananjaya – Chairman of IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka, the event featured a plethora of proceedings and sentiments regarding the project.

The most special aspects of this event was the launching of the Sinhalen DOCS mobile application, a citadel which gives its users unlimited access to the YouTube tutorials uploaded during the project’s timespan, followed by the awarding of a Rs.10000 scholarship to the winner of the prior organized Watch and Learn competition, the donation of a laptop and dongle to the Udayagiri Vidyalaya in Ampara – this school was the chosen winner from the prior conducted physical survey under the project sub-category Track and Reboot and the felicitation of the organizing committee of the Sinhalen DOCS project in appreciation of the time and energy they sacrificed on behalf of this project’s triumph and the tireless effort they displayed in raising the bar of this endeavor in every aspect possible.  

The latter part of the event consisted of well wishes and acknowledgments presented by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor and Special Guests, which subsequently added color and an increment of value to the project as a whole. The closing ceremony graciously drew to a close, marking the end of this mega project whilst leaving behind the reminiscence of the memories and new experiences attained in those vibrant seven months of service.
