Leo A2 Youth Camp - 2020

Leo youth camp is one of the memorable events organized by the Leo district 306 A2 which was held on 28th, 29th of February and on the 1st of March at Rangiri Aqua Dambulla, adventure-based camping site. For the ease of the participants, two shuttles were provided for transportation. The National anthem was sung and the pledges were read signing the start of the three days event with the council chairman Lion Dr. Padmasiri Ranawakaarachchi MJF as the chief guest of the event. About 100 Leos have participated in this year's camp. Leo youth camp is an annually conducting camp that helps the Leos every year to build up their confidence in facing obstacles and leadership skills.Various activities were conducted. Hiking, Air rifle shoot, Rope activities, Morning exercises, Flatwater rafting, etc. And the event was closed by a campfire allowing the Leos to show their unique skills and have fun. The main objective of this event is to build the bonds among Leos. The closing ceremony of the Leo camp was held with the participation of the Multiple District chairman for Leos, Past District Governor Lion Widyakeerthi Dissanayaka MJF.

BLUE PLANET...

To save life below water... Project " BLUE PLANET" organized by SLTC Leos was successfully completed on 23rd  August 2019 at Egodahena beach, Moratuwa. This was the first environmental project of the new leoistic year 2019/2020 of SLTC Leo's.   The biggest source of pollution in the ocean is directly from human activities. 80% of the pollution happens from the land. Every day thousands of trash and waste are dumped into the ocean. 90% of floating materials are plastic and polythene. These plastics are harmful to the animals who live in the ocean because they do not decompose and it’s one of the biggest environmental threats.
